Eric joined the company in 2002 bringing 28 years oilfield experience ranging from North Sea drilling to international production and completions along with Canadian oil and gas activities. Eric earned an HNC in Science from Robert Gordon’s in Aberdeen prior to starting his career with Otis Engineering.  With Otis, Mr. Laing worked in field positions in the North Sea, USA and South East Asia for seven years.  After completing international assignments he retuned to Canada to form his own oilfield supply company. That company was amalgamated with Endiem Oil Tools and in turn merged with Site Oil Tools. During his time with Site Oil he held the position of Domestic Sales Manager and International Sales Manager. After leaving Site Oil Tools, Mr. Laing was a founding member of Secure Oil Tools. Eric held the position of Domestic and International Sales Manger until the sale of the Secure Oil Tools division to Schlumberger. Mr. Laing then spent 18 months at Schlumberger as Global Business Development Manager to transition the Secure product line into the Schlumberger organization. Mr. Laing joined Stellarton (formerly the optimization division of VaporTech Energy Services Inc.) in 2002.

Since 2002 Ron has been the company controller and brings 26 years of manufacturing and oil services financial experience to Stellarton.  Ron has worked for Sherritt, Weyerhauser Canada, Secure Oil Tools, Schlumberger and KF Telford Engineered Products.  Starting his career with Sherritt, Mr. Carter progressed through a variety of accounting positions including Business Analyst, Assistant Controller Metals Division, and Assistant Controller Fertilizer Division.  After 12 years with Sherritt Mr. Carter left to work for Weyerhaeuser Canada in their finance and planning group in a variety of roles supporting Alberta based operations. After six years with Weyerhaeuser, Mr. Carter left to work as a Controller for Secure Oil Tools where he gained extensive experience with international operations and was involved with sale of the company to Schlumberger.   Shortly after the purchase of Secure Oil Tools by Schlumberger, Mr. Carter left to pursue an opportunity with KF Telford Engineered Products (A Circor International Company) as Controller.  He held this position for a period of two years before joining former Secure colleagues at Stellarton Technologies Inc. as Financial Controller.

Scott Gray, CET, Operations Manager
Scott Gray grew up as part of the oil and gas industry.  His family members have become Geologists, Engineers, and Rig-workers.  His father worked for Shell for 30 years before recently retiring.  Scott spent his summers working both casing and power tong crews before attending NAIT to complete his Petroleum Engineering Tech.  Through his schooling and various work experiences began his passion for the Optimization business.  In 2002, Scott was interviewed by Eric Laing and took the position of Assembly Technician for Advanced NPD.  He soon progressed into a Field Tech position and later took on a Field Sales roll in Central Alberta.  Advanced NPD became Vaportech Energy Services and Scott moved to Grande Prairie where he took over as Northern Area Supervisor for a successful 3 year term.  Scott followed members of the management team over to Stellarton Technologies Inc. and moved back to Edmonton in 2008 as the Operations Manager.  Scott has spent his career to date working alongside Eric Laing developing the necessary dynamic skill sets to ensure we provide our customer base with the highest level of safe quality service.
